Reception Admissions

If your child was born between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022, they will be eligible to start Reception in September 2026.

Applications for Reception places are made through Brent Council's online admissions system. The application deadline is 15 January 2026, and offers will be sent on 16 April 2026.

Timeline	What happens
By 15 January 2026	Submit your application through Brent Council's online system
16 April 2026	You will receive an offer of a school place from Brent Council
May 2026	Deadline to accept or decline your offer
June 2026	Transition events and settling-in sessions for new Reception pupils (details will be provided with your offer)
September 2026	Your child starts Reception at Mitchell Brook Primary School

Offers will be sent by Brent Council by email or post. Schools cannot contact you about the outcome of your application until after you have received your offer from the local authority.
